Holiday Family Photographs

Take the time out of your busy holiday to relax with your family and friends. Don't worry about the perfect gifts, worry about spending as much time with your family and friends as possible.

I know I am working hard now so I can take a few days off and see my family and friends in Michigan!

Take a load off and check out this adorable family and their Christmas photos!

I really enjoyed taking holiday photos with this adorable family. As you can see, their superstar mom had them color coordinated and looking their cutest! I had a little extra time to spend with their daughter so I let her draw on my chalkboard..what else is it good for anyways?!

The family looked so great I couldn't help snapping lots of pictures!

Christmas Photo with Dad :) I hate to say it but I think as they grow up he's going to be in trouble!

Just the girls...

And still in love...

Life as a Photographer...In Maryland

So ... it has been a while since I have been on the blogosphere! I have been a busy lady- working 3 jobs, shooting lots and lots of different types of things! Working a school photographer during the school day has been a lot of fun and a great experience for me! While I really wist I could post all the funny photos of the kids...that would just be well...wrong! So instead I would like to show you what I have been up to in the last couple of months!

In August.. I shot a beautiful wedding for a great couple...Christina and Dorian! Here are a few shots of Christina getting ready for the big day...

And another of the happy couple on their wedding day!

And then...I got engaged!!!

And I have been floating on a cloud ever since!

And since I cannot show you those school photos, here are a few more photos of what we have been up to...

Great Falls Park, Potomac MD

My fiance gets creative with the tripod: I am thinking of hiring him as my new assistant!

He even takes great portraits :)

We definitely enjoyed our time here...the sounds are so soothing and the views...well- the views!!!

I have one last photo to share with you. This one took quite a bit of effort :) My fiance and I were driving along the George Washington Parkway, on our way from DC to Maryland and as we were driving we passed a photographer on an overlook. I decided, since I had all of my gear- we should follow this photographers lead! We pulled over at the next overlook and walked about a mile to where we had seen the other photographer.

Here is what we saw!

Thanks for reading! I hope everyone is having a great fall!

Beautiful Voice and Soul

If you follow me on Facebook..you know I love taking pictures of this pretty lady right here, so I thought I would give a little biography behind the beautiful Wisseme! She is more than just a pretty face. She is the owner of a beautiful voice and soul. It is such a gift to hear Wisseme sing! One of my favorite versions of the song, Just the Two of Us or Walking Away or an original song by Wiss- Tomorrow is Another Day

The day I met Wisseme was the same day I dropped my plate of deserts during a fancy party at a hotel! She was right there with Walid, laughing. She is such a free spirit, who truly lets her emotions be felt through her music. I am so happy we have become friends. We have a similar sense of humor, so we had a great time taking pictures in the middle of the road during a picnic in Rock Creek Park.

She is just as beautiful outside as she is within her heart. Wisseme was born in Algeria, and fell in love with music at a young age. Her brother Walid, says she wanted to play the guitar because he first took interest in playing. Though there was probably some sibling rivalry there, he is to this day her greatest fan! Before I met her, Walid had shown me many videos of different performances Wisseme had done- and why not be a proud brother?! She's awesome!
The first time I heard her sing in person was a surprise performance at an event held by the AAAGW in downtown Alexandria, VA. Now I just love getting the guitar out whenever I see her, in hopes she'll pick it up- like she did here...

What a pleasant surprise Wisseme performs for the AAAGW crowd in Alexandria, VA

I hope everyone visits her site to hear what she's all about- visit Wisseme.com or find her channel on YouTube. PS- I hope you enjoyed the photos too..we sure did!

Souad Massi Celebrating Algeria's 50th Independence Anniversary at the Kennedy Center

After the big storms hit the DC Metro Area on Friday, thousands of people were without power. I wondered if the concert would still be on...thankfully, it was! My boyfriend, Walid was very excited about the concert and as we made our way to DC we ran into some delays at the Metro (like usual) so we decided to drive. We were lucky enough to get there in time to get a seat near the front. As the concert began we looked behind us to see a few hundred more people had gathered to see Souad Massi. Souad is a beautiful Algerian singer, accompanied by a fabulous band and great energy! We were clapping, and even though I do not speak Arabic, I could still hum along to the catchy tunes!

Very unique instrument- DARBOUKA played by a very talented artist, Sheikh Rabah Khalfa :) Sheikh = Master

A lot of great energy during the concert... these two were really Jammin!

Visit the Kennedy Center Website to view the entire concert!

But the fun didn't end here! After the concert I was approached by the MBC News for an interview! Feeling a little bit shy, I grabbed Walid to interview with me, so we are both famous now! Our friends were also interviewed!

Rafik being interviewed  by MBC.

And after the interviews, we were able to meet Souad Massi and her band members!
